La-Z-Boy UK was shortlisted in the ‘Best of British’ category in The Furniture Awards 2024.
Four businesses made the shortlist for the award which celebrates ‘the best in homegrown design and build’ for companies which principally manufacture in the UK.
La-Z-Boy Manufacturing UK was set up in 2021 to serve the business in Britain.
Shortly after purchasing the factory, La-Z-Boy Manufacturing UK joined the Made In Britain organisation to highlight its UK production facilities and quality commitments, as well as giving consumers the opportunity to identify locally made product via its website and in-store point of sale materials featuring the Made In Britain logo.
Many of the staff in the UK factory have worked there for an extended time, some for more than 40 years, since the facility was in previous ownership.
Winners were announced at the January Furniture Show, the country’s largest furniture trade event, on 22nd January. La-Z-Boy exhibited 13 British made ranges at the event, five for La-Z-Boy UK and seven for its white label brand Furnico, which included exciting new models for both brands.
Managing director of La-Z-Boy UK, Tristan Pyke, commented: “We are very proud to have been shortlisted for this award. It is testament to the work of our entire team who have introduced best-in-class processes, improved the physical work environment, upskilled our teams and enhanced our product quality and features since the time we bought the factory.”
